Consistency is thick but goes on smooth. They definitely skipped the fragrance because I didn’t smell anything so hopefully when I order it again it will have some fragrance. Hold was good with no flaking.

I was looking for a new gel, so far I’m really impressed. It has a good hold and does not leave any flakes. I use it to do a twist out. It doesn’t have much of a smell. The shipping was quick. Overall, I’m satisfied!

Baby this gel is amazing I have in between 4b-4c hair and rock wash and gos and let me tell you I had definition for days and days I didn't have to restyle my hair at all throughout the week other than my edges and baby hairs and this gel handled my baby hairs too. It have a very strong hold which I love and need.

Please don't ever change anything about this gel!! It is true to it's name! It freezes you're hair right into place. I have semi permanent color and once my hair is dry, there is absolutely no color transfer!!!

I really wanted to like this gel as I heard so many great reviews about it but it just didn’t cut it for me. It was very drying to my hair and didn’t define it the way my hair normally defines, despite being a strong hold gel. The cast is very strong though and left my hair really crunchy. I had to break the cast immediately because I was scared my hair would break off or something. It is decent on dry hair for high puffs and buns though, but be careful. It flakes and can easily build up on the hair. In all honesty, I wouldn’t repurchase it. Still love other sountanicals products, regardless.

I don’t like this gel for wash me go’s but for a slick down and laying my edges and baby hair I do. When I used it for my wash n go my hair started to matte up. Also the size of the jar is really small and I used quite bit and I fell like if I were to used it for doing my hair I would only get like 3 uses out of it.

Your hair needs to be super hydrated before using this gel. I use it on top of Another botanical gel that is hydrating. This adds that hold with great ingredients instead of plastics.

I think it smells good! It has a think texture and clear in color. I used the frozen gel as my base gel. I had to do a lot of smoothing down with the gel to get my curls to activate. For me is foamed a little giving off a mouse like effect. Some parts of my hair did dry soft and frizzy, I was hoping to get more of a cast. I did manage to wear my wash n go a full week. I am wearing a 6 day old style in the picture. I will say that I might like the boosting gelly more though. It gives a softer wash n go but i think i get more definition with it and it applies better onto the hair for me.

My wash n go turned out perfect! I used this on top of the frozen gel and it gave my curls so much shine. I only use a little bit on each section but it’s perfect!

No matter how I tried I could not use this to lay down my actual edges. On my ends as a styler it was fine as long as there was a leave in underneath but the moment I’d go to lay down my edges... white residue. Arrrrghhh! A shame because if left a pliable firm hold.

I was pleasantly surprised how easily it applied since it is pretty thick. My next surprise was how much time I got out of that wash and go......I got a seven day wng without refreshing. All I did was moisturize on day five. I was in disbelief! This was the longest wng I ever had. I paired the gel with the Knot Sauce. This combination has quickly moved to holy grail status.

A lot of people rave about this product based on reviews but no one mentions the dryness & flaking that it gives.
I've tried using a moderate about as I would with Eco or any other gel AND using much less since it's claimed as a super holding gel.... the holding ability is there but the white flakes & dryness is a big fat "NO MA'AM"!! not attempts have flakes and dryness

My hair has two different textures, the back of my hair is really fine, with ringlet curls. The front of my hair has no curl pattern whatsoever. I used the sprung coil gelly on the back of my hair and for extra hold and curl formation i used this frozen gel on the front. My mind was blown!!!! I was able to achieve super defined finger coils with no frizz and no flakes!! and the hold is insane!!!! i couldn't believe how well my curls held up with this gel! and i did NOT have to use a lot of product. definitely need to stock up on these babies!!! So amazing!

When I tell you I wanna like this gel, I really wanna like this gel but I just can’t. I’ve paired it with damn near every single Soultanicals leave in conditioner and the flakage is INSANE every time. The first time I used this gel I had to change my clothes cause the flaking was so ridiculous. That definition though— POPPINGTON! Twist outs, wash n gos and flexi rod sets are all fireee with this gel and it gives an amazing stretch for all my ladies that wanna see that length. I loved the coil boosting gelly so much I just knew I was gonna love this so unfortunately I have 4 bottles that I’ll have for a long periollolical time. This gel is only for when I want quick slick back before a wash day.

I don't know why there aren't more youtube vids on this product. I have tried soooo many gels. I only have one staple and was looking for another gel that was a little heavier (but not eco heavy). I have been a Soultanicals fan for a couple of years now, but the gels/stylers have fallen short until now. This is the second best gel I have tried in over 3 years. Glad I finally decided to give it a try and will repurchase.

This has to be the best gel I have ever used. It gives you the strong hold you are looking for, but at the same time is very light leaving your curls with volume, bouncy and really defined. Wetline xtreme is a great gel, but we all know there is nothing good for you and is all chemical, to try to compare this gel to that I think is insulting to this product... this gel is in a class by itself, I truly hope they dont discontinue this or stop making it... if you haven't tried it, you are missing out.

I never thought this gel would work for a wash and go on my low porosity 4A/4B hair, but I tried the 8 oz on a whim, figuring I could use it for my edges if it was a fail OH MY GOSH!!! How did you do it? Moisture AND hold! Here's the problem: I have bra strap length hair. Please put this in a bigger container!! Ladies, it's better than Eco AND Wetline. It's moisturizing, thick, super duper hold with no flaking. I challenge you to try it and disagree. It is truly magnificent!

I apply this over a cream on super wet hair and it makes my hair feel like silk. It dries crunchy, which I like, but scrunches out easily. My hair looks and feels so nice with this gel. Thank you!

I tried this because almost every other Soultanicals product I've used has been amazing! This gel did not disappoint! I can finally say goodbye to that 3-letter gel I used to use. I applied a little bit of Fro'Zen to small sections of my soaking wet 3c/4a hair (freshly washed, as the instructions suggest) and made tiny finger coils. I am now on DAY 5 of those finger coils, the hold is fabulous, and with NO CRUNCH, NO FLAKING--MY HAIR ACTUALLY FEELS SOFT AND MOISTURIZED---WITH A GEL IN IT!! I don't usually do reviews after just one use, but this was beyond my expectations! Thank You Soultanicals!!!!

Wow! I didn't expect much from this gel because I heard that Soultanicals didn't have the best stylers. However, this gave me AMAZING hold and shine on a 5 day wash and go in extreme heat and humidity. It's the first gel I've encountered that gives excellent hold without any crunch.
Note: I applied this to soaking wet hair right out of the shower. I imagine it will work differently if you towel dry your hair first. Also, I have very thick 3b/3c hair.
